Conservation
Here at Pun Nuptials we believe in conservation. We have set an example in our stewardship by conserving as much as we can to slow down in our consumption of our natural recourses. Together, we can all make a difference in the impact we have on this delicate planet we call home. Listed below are ways we conduct our business and set the tone of stewardship.
- 73% of our lighting fixtures uses either CFL or Florescent.
- Remaining 27% are controlled with Dimmer Switches set to about 70-80% brightness.
- All of our printer are set at Draft as printing output. This helps conserve the amount of toner and ink used for each printing job.
- We reuse scrap paper and junk mail to take notes on.
- We use paper from junk mail and scrap to print our in-house documents.
- We are able conduct consultations over the phone and via e-mail to save fuel for the couple.
- Our ceremony selections are e-mailed to decrease paper waste. (don't need to reprint when ceremonies are updated or waste couple's fuel to drop off the selection booklet back to us.)
- We accept online payments; this will save on paper, envelope, and stamp cost for our couple.
- When we mail back the marriage license to the county courthouse, we consolidate them to one envelope for the same weekend the weddings where performed.
- We keep our office heating as low as possible and our cooling as high as possible.
- Computers are turned off at night and printers are either off or on sleep mode.
- Before any office supplies, furniture, or clothing are purchased we visit all local thrift and consignment stores (e.g. Goodwill, Via, Twice As Nice, etc).
- We recycle all of our paper, plastic, cardboard, aluminum, and glass refuse.
- When planning wedding assignments to our ministers, we try and group weddings together to decrease vehicle emissions (e.g. 3 weddings in the Lehigh Valley area goes to one Minister, 4 weddings in the Philadelphia area goes to another Minister, 3 weddings in the Pocono area goes to one Minister, etc).
